流过的都是不同的流水。

Our Challenges
Geju yu Dongjian 格局与洞见 (Horizons and Insights): The Chinese-Greek Philosophy Forum aims to address key asymmetries and challenges in the study of Chinese and Greek philosophies in Europe and China.
While Greek philosophy flourishes in China, for years, Chinese and comparative philosophy have remained marginalised in Western academia. Political tensions, language barriers, and cultural clichés have also obstructed meaningful exchange, while scholars on both sides often ignore modern reconstructions of classical thought or divorce ideas from their native contexts. We aim to confront these gaps by fostering open dialogue and mutual learning between teachers and students of Chinese and Greek philosophies.
Our Method
We engage Chinese and Greek philosophies as living currents—not static monuments—that evolve through transformative encounters with their own pasts, with global ideas, and with one another. We remain aware of boundaries: we promote critical dialogue that moves beyond superficial parallels to explore how dissonances, as much as resonances, can serve as conditions for Chinese and Greek philosophies to learn with and from one another, and to inform discussions on contemporary issues.
The method is also interdisciplinary: we welcome approaches by different disciplines to shared problems. It is an urgent demand of our times for different ways of conceptualising and addressing challenges in all aspects of life to meet and interact.
Our Goal
We offer a forum, an open space for teachers and students of Chinese and Greek philosophies to get together and discuss interpretations of ancient thought, applying their insights to contemporary life.
Through online and in-person events, we aim to open this space for philosophy to connect with history, sociology, science, and institutions. Our goal is to bring together people working across these fields, creating a space for the exchange of insights on ethics, governance, and our shared future.
